"Hi Andy. I’ve not received to data pack yet on the 90 Franklin install. Actually I made a error on the engine I’m overhauling for my FP 65. It is actually a 80 hp with starter and generator. I’m hoping to use your data as the basis…"

"I’ll scan the data pack and email it to you, Doug.  You use the 65 engine mount and use a 65 accessory case on the 90: no electrical will fit ahead of the firewall, just the two mags.  With a Marvel MA-2 carb, you have mixture…"

About Me:
Have been a pilot all of my adult life. Siloed a Cessna 120 in 1958 at age 16. Comm helicopter pilot until 1975. From then on flew fixed wing for pleasure. Have A&P /IA ratings and have restored and repaired numerous tube and fabric A/C. I currently own and fly a very nice Piper Vagabond with 65Lyc. I developed several STCs for short wing pipers and designed and marketed the Bungee Buddy tool to install shock cords on Piper gear. Pretty much trying to stay retired now. My brother and I have owned two Porterfield projects for around 30 yrs. A 1939 CP50 and a 1941 FP65. Both are in process now.

I’ll scan the data pack and email it to you, Doug.  You use the 65 engine mount and use a 65 accessory case on the 90: no electrical will fit ahead of the firewall, just the two mags.  With a Marvel MA-2 carb, you have mixture control, so you can lean & cruise about 95 at 2050 rpm, burning 3 gph (Stromberg equipped engines can’t do thar.  To get enough carb heat, you run cold air thru one heat muff, run that heated air thru the other heat muff, then into the carb airbox.  Prop is a 72-49, like a Stinson 10A uses.
