Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

Hello to the group. I just became a very proud owner of a CP65 and I must  say it is one of the most impressive aircraft I have ever flown. My question for the group is in regards to obtaining a new set of exhaust manifolds for my Continental engine. The previous owner had always used Wag Aero as a source ordering pipes for an Aeronca Champ which fit nicely. Unfortunately, as you know that is no longer an option. I had a set shipped from Univair however they did not fit with the engine cowling. Luckily they allowed me to return them. My concern is having the same issue with Aircraft Spruce. I do have a set of blueprints for the original exhaust but they are in 1/4 scale and hard to read. My question, does anyone in the forum have a set of usable blueprints that I can use, as I have a source to have them made. If not any suggestions on obtaining the correct stacks ?

Thank you all In advance.

Hi Lee, Welcome to the group and Skinny Bird ownership! I’ve attached the drawing that came with my bird, and I can only hope that it helps. I haven’t used it for manufacture, so I’m not able to vouch for it.

Steve,

Thank you for taking the time to send the exhaust drawings that you have. I will compare them to my 1/4 scale blueprints, but at first glance they appear the same and are much easier to read.

I’m proud to be a Skinny Bird Owner.

Lee
