Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

TJ Neff has been advertising his Collegiate for quite a while now. Steve Weaver had one, years ago, that he had on TAP for a long time, too. She was finally sold to one of our newer members. Many of our old gals are languishing in various forms of storage, hopefully, none of them are stuck out in the weather, derelict.

Everybody has a dream and most derelict aircraft are someone's dream of someday restoring her airworthiness and flying her. Unfortunately, those someones often pass away and their families have no idea where the documentation and other bits and bobs for the plane are.

If your Porterfield is a dream you're storing for that day when you can finally get to her, would you please keep all of her together in one place, and label all the pieces that are too big to fit inside her fuselage so it's pretty obvious that the wings, etc. go with the fuselage? Please keep all the documents in a steel box so rodents don't turn it into bedding, and keep the box in the fuselage, too.

We are but temporary caretakers of these lovely grand dames of the air: let's treat them with all the dignity they deserve. They're not Pipers, nor Aeroncas, they're Porterfields!
