Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely
Hello all,
I am new to the forum and a recent new owner of a Porterfield project. As the project is nearing completion I need to get in contact with Brad Rankin (the type certificate holder as I am sure you all know). If anyone has his contact information or knows how to get a hold of him, please reach out to me, it would be extremely helpful!
Thanks,
Aaron

His mailing address is: 27166 Jet Rd, Maryville, MO 64468
His Dad, Kevin, runs the family airport (78Y), at the above address, and the airport across town. His phone numbers are: 1-660-582-4128 and 1-660-562-7450. He may be able to get you in touch with Brad.
I have no email address for him. I used to email his Grandpa Jo, but that was fifteen years ago.
So far, we have received no support from Brad. It is my understanding that he intended to organize all the Porterfield documentation so he could provide us with drawings, etc. but he has this funny little thing called a life, and it keeps happening while he's busy making other plans that don't. Some of our members have factory drawings that we share with each other, but we don't have all of them. If you need parts, you or your mechanic will have to fabricate each one under a Form 337 as an owner manufactured part.
Good luck!
Thanks for the info Andy! I mailed him a letter to the address on the TCDS a couple of weeks ago. Starting to attempt other measures of contact. I will advise with updates.
UPDATE: First of all, thank you to Andy and all who helped out. I was able to get in contact with Kevin and Brad, who were both extremely helpful and pleasant to work with. Once Brad helped me with what I needed, I asked his permission, of which he granted, to post his contact information on this forum. He said he would be willing to help others with their Porterfield needs. He has a busy life, just like the rest of us, so he may not answer his phone but he said he would intend to return calls as soon as practical. He told me prints and documents are still kind of a mess but he is willing to support where/how he can.
His number is 1-660-541-0576. His address on the TCDS is accurate. I will note that the letter I wrote to him trying to initiate contact took about a month and a half to make it to him (from Michigan to Missouri), the letter likely got lost in the shuffle for a while.
Again, thanks very much to Kevin and Brad both for their help and hospitality, and thanks Andy for the help initiating contact.
Aaron
We're all in this together, Aaron! Thank you for your efforts in getting another one of the old gals flying.
