I am a retired self-employed commercial pilot in the process of trading for a Porterfield 35/70. My very first airplane was a Porterfield LP-65 which I flew for several years. I loved the little "skinny bird" and I stumbled across this plane. I live in Harrison, AR and flying and long range marksmanship are my only hobbies. I flew airshow acro in a Pitts on steroids for a number of years and later dragged banners, did traditional barnstorming in first a 1930 Waco KNF and later in a 1929 BK Bird biplane. I taught acro in a Decathlon and retired at age 65. I am now 70 years and am getting back to my first love, a Porterfield.
Do you own a Porterfield Airplane? N#?
I am in the process of trading for one now. A Porterfield 35/70.
Are You a Pilot? Ratings?
Yes, but have to now fly LSA. I have flown since I got out of the Army in 1973.
Do you have a MYSPACE profile, email address or personal website that you would like to share with others?
I would enjoy meeting you. Looks like you have quite an aviation history. Just name dropping here...my flight instructor was Linda Hamer. I believe she was the first woman IAC president back in the late 80's or early 90's. She had a Pitts and Skybolt. I wonder if you and her paths ever crossed? She eventually instructed for years in her fleet of (2) 150's, (1) 172, and a Decathalon. She was based out of her farm strip with hubby Gerry Hamer north of Peru, IL.
We are not too far apart in beautiful Arkansas. I am the Director of Development here at KMEZ for General Aviation Solutions/Rose Aircraft Services...a FAA145/EASA repair station/refurb center. I am an A&P.
