"High Tony, not sure if my attached photos are going to help. I’ve never taken the inside door trim off to see what is in there. Also, my aircraft is later, it’s a 1941 Collegiate. Kind Regards Steve."

Please Show Me Your Door Latches

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to repair the door latch on my 35-70.  I'm curious to see photos of the different kinds of latches Porterfield used to see if I can figure out how to source a replacement.  My mechanism is about 37/8's square and an inch thick.  I thought it was an auto component but now don't think so.  I've looked at drawings Tom sent but they aren't anything like I have. Thanks. See More

Welcome to our wee club for the skinny birds, Tony! Thank you for preserving the history of the Flyabout by including ol' 182 in your collection. Most of what you'll find in the Forum and Blogs are Collegiate related, and we do have a bit of Flyabout information. If you have a photo your old gal and maybe a history worked up, we'd love to see it posted here in the Forum.
