Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

I need to replace the inner tubes in the 6.00x6 tires that are mounted on the Shinn 6C5HB wheels. Does anyone know if the Aero Classic TR-87 70 degree bent stem tube will do the job? Any recommendations for an inner tube with a stem that will pass through the wheel ?

Try contacting Desser directly, Mark, at https://shop.desser.com/contactus/ and ask them. Their prices are also lower than AS&S, though AS&S will match their price, if you call their customer service, and they have free shipping on most orders over $350.

The TR-87 stem may not be located in the center of the tube, but outboard a bit, so I don't know how well it would work in a Shinn wheel. Hopefully, Desser can tell you that.

The TR-67A is the 90* bent stem, and Aero Classic makes a 6.00-6 tube with it, but gadzooks! they want an extra $70 for it.

I use Air Trac tires because I fly off grass, even at airports with paved runways, I ask about where to land in the grass. I replace tires for age cracks, not worn treads. Unfortunately, they no longer make 6.00-6 Air Trac tubes with bent stems, so we're stuck ponying up $100+ for the Aero Classic.

Hello Andy, thanks for your suggestions and information. I too use the AIR TRAC tires, though almost exclusively on paved surfaces. The tread is about gone on the right tire but they have 650 hrs and 13 years use so it's time to replace them for sidewall cracks more than anything else. I've made do in the past with tubes having the TR20 stem and adding an extension, kinda clumsy and would rather have something that was made to fit without having to resort to the Rube Goldberg approach.

Presently I'm waiting to hear back from Dresser, hope they have the solution.

Thanks again Andy.
