Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

Greetings fellow Skinny Boid fans. Last Saturday 8-23-2025, was the 85th birthday of our Porterfield. The day happened to coincide with the August Fly Day at The Heritage flight Museum   at Skagit Regional Airport (KBVS), where my wife Suzi and I volunteer. The museums executive director Greg Anders, son of Apollo 8 astronaut William Anders, was gracious enough to offer for us to park our airplane in the museums hanger during the event. We were very honored! It was a very special and memorable day for Suzi and I.

If you are in the pacific northwest and have the opportunity, the museum is a wonderful destination. Their main focus is honoring veterans, the Apollo 8 mission, and the preservation of some amazing flyable US military aircraft.
