Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

Hello, Does anyone know where I might acquire an additional trim placard like the one in my attached photo? Or maybe something similar that would be appropriate for the Collegiate’s trim set up.

Thank you, Mark NC27249

I've never seen placards for the trim, Mark. Where are you thinking of placing it? On the seatback in the rear? Jerry at Nostalgic Reflections makes replacement Porterfield data plates (https://www.nostalgicreflections.com/index.html), he could probably make you a duplicate placard. Is the pictured placard on your instrument panel? I would think locating it on the floor, just ahead of the wee trim crank, would make more sense...

The photo in my original post is of the trim placard and ball on 249er’s instrument panel. I have a new matching ball slip indicator for the back of the pilot seat for willing passengers who would like to practice flying and  coordinated turns. Although there is the required trim placard for the passenger, just ahead of the “wee” trim crank, it is quite distracting for the uninitiated to look down and try and cipher the proper rotation for nose up/down I would like to add one below the new ball I’ll be adding to the back of the pilot seat so they can keep their eyes on the horizon as the make trim changes. Attached is Porterfield drawing number A-1906 showing required placards. (trim—upper left part of  dwg. A-1906.

Oh cool! I haven't seen this drawing before. I'll send it Jerry at Nostalgic Reflections to get a price quote from him to make up a set. He uses screen printing that looks great. Thank you, Mark!

The rear stick can rub the front seatback, so locate the placard and slip indicator a bit above the stick, but not so high that they will be bumped by the rear passenger getting in and out.

I contacted Jerry Turner about reproducing the placards on the drawing (see IMG_6071.jpeg, above) and he replied:

"I can make the 8 plate set of Porterfield Aircraft Placards for a total of $1,480.00 which will include insured shipping.
We accept credit or debit cards, check, PayPal, MO or cash. Please advise."

Jerry Turner could be a good source for placards for someone finishing a restoration. I was able to find someone to make an additional trim placard to add to the rear of the pilot seat for the passenger.
