Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

Collegiate article in the Jan '26 issue of Kitplanes Magazine

Written by owner Mike Davenport, it's basically an ad for his Langley, BC based FP-65 (CF-RKU). Yes, she's for sale. Mike gives us a brief history (S/N 1029, first registration was NC37899) of this old gal and then his impressions of flying her. No asking price is given.

Mike is the author of the book, People, Places, and Planes, so may be found via Google if you want to buy a FP-65 with a C-85-8 engine up front.

So why is there a story about a "vintage aircraft" in Kitplanes magazine? Kitplanes was bought out by a micromanaging Chattanooga media mogul (Firecrown Media), who also owns FLYING, Plane & Pilot, and Consumer Aviation, among others, and likely doesn't know a Porterfield from Lancair (choo-choo!)
