Joe Rankin

Hello, while going through the owner history of our Porterfield NC 27249, I see that it was owned for a brief period in 1956 by John W Rankin of New Castle Delaware. It made me curious as to whether he was related to Joe Rankin the owner of the type certificate. It’s amazing to me how many owners there were over the years of our bird. At one point in 1944 it was on by the Defense Plant Corporation Washington DC.

That’s a good question for Brad Rankin! Most of our old girls have pretty checkered histories of pampering, neglect, and being put to work teaching students how to fly. Some have been in the same family since they flew out of Kansas City.
