Keep the Skinny Birds Flying Safely

I am missing the upper tail brace wires.  I have the lower and they are the streamline type.  What are other restorers using for the upper wires and what is a good source?  Thanks.

I'm still looking for the length of the upper tail support wires from hole center to hole center if anyone can help me out.  I am finally to the stage of putting the plane back together but I'm missing the tail support wires.  The Citabria wires look like they will work with minor modifications so all I am looking for is the length verification of the upper wire.  I'd appreciate any help with this.  Thanks.

The Citabria tail wires will work but appear to be slightly long.  How is the best way to rig the horizontal stab?  The instructions that I can find are not very clear.  Something about sighting to the wing attach point with the fuselage level.  Can someone give me a measurement from center hole to center hole of the support wire?  I have checked the archives but am unable to find anything on tail wire length.

Thanks Andy, I will check it out.  I have found that the tail brace wire from a Citabria fits the Porterfield perfectly.  The wire is 48 9/16 with rolled threads.  I just recently attached one side and haven't had a chance to check everything out exactly but first indications look good.

My FP-65 has streamlined wires. I think there's a forum posting in the archives that gives the lengths of top and bottom tail brace wires.
