Porterfield fuselage and wing identification, clues and markings?

I may soon be looking at a fuselage and wings that could be from a Porterfield 35 or a similar aircraft.  I'd appreciate any suggestions of things to look for on a disassembled and likely incomplete…Continue

Porterfield Aircraft - 4th Factory Location

1720/1726 Wabash Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri I have in my notes that this address appeared in Porterfield's advertising in 1938, 1939, 1940 and Feb 1941.  However, the Columbia Wiping Cloth Company apparently moved in before this photo was taken in 1940 and Porterfield was already on to its next and final location (2809 E 14th).  Porterfield may have continued some…See More

Hi Brett:

We're forced to limit our membership to owners of Porterfield aircraft because our website is limited to 150 members or the price goes up significantly and we don't want to have to deal with dues, etc. However, if you were to share with us what you can find out about Porterfield's relationship with KC in the 20s through 40s, you'd earn our gratitude. So welcome to our wee club for the skinny birds, Brett!
