Any Porterfields or owners attending Airventure 2024?
My FP65 is not ready. I hope 2025 will see me fly in.
I'm new here. Are there any type meet ups planned?

I am missing the upper tail brace wires. I have the lower and they are the streamline type. What are other restorers using for the upper wires and what is a good source? Thanks.

I am currently at the point in restoration of hooking up the engine ( A65) and mounting the gas tank but notice there is no fuel shut off valve. Any advice on what type to use?

This may have been answered before and I have missed it, but who currently owns the
Manufacturing rights to the Porterfield Aircraft Company? The last I have found is the Ward Furniture co. Any historians in the group know the answer.??

I own a 35/70 Porterfield in Australia which I have been flying since 1955.
I am visiting Oshkosh this year (first time) and would like to catch up with other Porterfield owners.
I will be in Seattle for three days, Washington DC for 4 days and Detroit for 3 days all before Oshkosh.
Lets keep the skinny birds flying.

Sport-Flying-Article-1975-Vol-1-Iss-2.pdf
I was cleaning some shelves in a closet and found an issue of Sport Flying that my dad saved. It has an article on the Porterfield Aircraft Company in it.
I remember there being much discussion around the article at our house. I think that the author of the article, Don Pratt, may have contacted my dad…

The original Taylorcraft company produced an Aircraft Service Manual that contains scale fuselage and wing plans and an isometric drawing of the complete steel tube structure.
I am familiar with: http://airfoiltools.com/airfoil/details?airfoil=m6-il
Are scale plans or drawings of the Porterfield Collegiate-- fuselage, wings or wing ribs-- available?

Hi Porterfield fans,
We own 35-70 N17026, and wondering how many are currently under restoration these days. I'm starting work on 2 LeBlond 5Es and wondering if anyone has had gaskets made for Leblonds, or sources / substitutions for pistons, piston pins, valves, etc. Also if any of you have had cast iron cylinders chromed. Thanks

A few weeks ago, my dad and I resumed the restoration of his Collegiate. This time we have help from a friend who's an A&P and another who's an IA.
The wings and engine were rebuilt, and the fuselage was hand sanded and repainted. We have most of the old parts, but many of them, including the wing struts, windscreen, cowling, and cables, need to be replaced.
We also need a few critical drawings. At the moment, drawings of the engine compartment for the…

I have within my fathers paperwork / files a number of Porterfield Club Newsletters. Would current club members be interested in a project to have these inventoried, scanned into searchable PDFs, and either posted to the club site or made available to club members? Any and all thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Today is July 10th, 2020. My mother and father would have been married for 80 years today. They have long since passed, but I am still amazed by their lives. Happy anniversary Mom and Dad.
Since my dad was so involved with the Porterfield aircraft, I wanted to re-share a bio that appeared in the Porterfield Club newsletter in April of 1978. It was authored by Chuck LeBrecht with inputs from my dad.
There are some errors, spelling, grammatical, and factual (I…

Has anyone preplaced the old Bendix SF4 mags on their CP-65 with SLICK 4333 mags?
It appears that spacers are required between the accessory case and mag to accommodate the required impulse coupler. I welcome any and all information or comments on the conversion process and parts required.

Hi Folks
Just a couple words . I Finally got my "new" Porterfield home from the storage center after about 8 months. I live on an airstrip in Florida 72FL , that i purchased a couple years ago . It's been a journey getting it like I wanted , but I'm finally ready to start building again. As some of you know , this is my second skinny bird. My first n25563 was in an accident after I sold her and now lives with Dave Brown in Ohio. (Its for sale as a project) A few pictures are…

Fellow club members: I have engaged a vintage DAR. To assist with the engineering analysis for a C85 conversion for the 65 Porterfield. I need the fuselage drawings to help get the analysis going. My DAR has contacted the Rankins and they will try to help, but their drawings are still boxed up and things are difficult to find. If anyone has the drawings I would be very interested in getting a copy. Please help if you can. I am certainly willing to pay for copies. The analysis will not be…
